Some Austen Places in Bath
When Austen and her parents reached Bath in 1800, they stayed with their friends the Leigh Perrots at #1 The Paragon while looking for their own residence. After some searching and discussion, they settled at 4 Syndey Place, where they lived for three years.

When the lease on Syndey Place expired, the Austens moved to Green Park Buildings (sorry, no pictures), where they remained until shortly after the father's death in 1805. He is buried in Walcot Church (again, no pictures). Later in 1805 Jane and her mother moved to 25 Gay Street, In the summer of 1806 Mrs. Austen, her two daughters, and family friend Martha Lloyd left Bath. After extended visits with friends, they settled in Southampton for several years before finally moving to Chawton, where Jane began writing again.
