| SCHOLARSHIPS |

- The DAR, at the National, State, and Local levels seeks to encourage and support your goals and aspirations for higher education.
- The NSDAR currently offers many different scholarships. Most do not have parental DAR membership as a requirement.
- Every applicant for a DAR scholarship must have a letter of sponsorship from a local DAR chapter attached to his/her application as a cover letter.
- Every applicant must be a United States citizen verified by a copy of his/her birth certificate or naturalization papers.
- No personal photographs of the applicant are allowed: NSDAR Scholarships are awarded without regard to race, religion, sex, or national origin.
- The NSDAR Scholarship Committee Fact Sheet and Scholarship Application Packet are available from the NSDAR Office of Committees, 1776 D Street NW, Washington, DC 20006-5392, and will be mailed to all those enclosing a self-addressed stamped envelope. The Fact Sheet is also available for download from the NSDAR web site under "forms". The Fact Sheet states the general and specific requirements for each scholarship. The Office of Committees also offers applicants assistance in locating a sponsor chapter in their vicinity.
- Fact Sheets may also be available from local DAR Chapters, at guidance offices at local high schools, at the financial aid offices and/or major department offices at institutions of higher education. Contact them first.
